Congratulations sa ating Vice Mayor Gian Sotto and Quezon City Council!

Itinanghal bilang National Winner ang ating Sangguniang Panlungsod sa ilalim ng Highly Urbanized Cities category sa ginanap na 2023 Local Legislative Award ng Philippine Councilors League (PCL) at Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Tayo'y nagkamit ng award bilang "National Winner for the Highly Urbanized Cities Category" sa pangunguna ni Vice Mayor Gian Sotto bilang presiding officer kasama si Coun. Doray Delarmente bilang Majority Floor Leader.

For the third consecutive time and now with a rating of 99.5% na siyang iginawad sa ating lokal na pamahalaan, it is truly an honor to serve our QCitizens. Patunay na ang good governance ay hindi imposible at kaya nating gampanan ang ating mga tungkulin! Maraming salamat po sa inyo at Congratulations sa ating lahat lalo na ang Quezon City Council!

“Led by VICE MAYOR GIAN SOTTO as presiding officer, the QUEZON CITY COUNCIL was cited as the Most Outstanding Sanggunian during the 2023 Local Legislative Awards.

On 05 December 2023, Quezon City was proclaimed as the NATIONAL WINNER for the Highly Urbanized city (HUC) Category, besting all other highly- urbanized cities all over the archipelago.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) - National Capital Region has previously commended the Quezon City Council for being the REGIONAL WINNER for Metro Manila with the performance rating of 99.5% which led to their nomination as a national awardee.

Vice Mayor Gian Sotto proclaimed that the award is a perfect example of God’s faithfulness and how “It is by God’s grace, strength, wisdom, and guidance that we were able to lead the Quezon City Council to get the highest award given to a sangguniang panlungsod!”

In his speech, DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos congratulated all the awardees for being beacons of inspiration for local governance. “Your commitment to legislative excellence has not only set a standard for others to follow but has also significantly contributed to the advancement of our communities,” he said.

The Sanggunians were assessed based on their responsiveness to the legislative agenda, availability of legislative documents, effectiveness, efficiency, legislative citations and awards, and capacity development for legislators and staff.

The Local Legislative Awards is a joint initiative of the DILG, the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines (VMLP), and the PCL to advance local governance and recognize grassroots legislative champions whose efforts significantly impact public service delivery.”
